So many people struggle with getting work because they are uncomfortable doing sales. There is a stigma that sometimes goes along with sales that people don’t want to be associated with. Some people decide that they just aren’t good at sales so they give up on it. We called this section “Getting Work” because it speaks to you without scaring you.

To get work, you have to sell your product or service to your potential clients. Yup, this is sales. However, we’re going to look at it in a different way because getting work is really about forming and maintaining relationships. If you can build a relationship with your clients, getting work from them is easy.

This isn’t a trick or a technique to get jobs, it’s a legitimate relationship between businesses and people.  We are going to discuss many different ways to approach client relationships in this section and if you start thinking about getting clients as building relationships, it will probably be less daunting and more comfortable.

Just remember, relationships take time and effort so while you may land some quick jobs here and there, the big success will be getting clients that you can work with for years to come.
