TNT – Stick Your Landings
All the drones I use have an option for some kind of crosshair that can be placed in the middle of the screen. While some find this an annoying addition, I find it quite useful when flying the drone. The option can usually be found under settings and once the crosshair shows up on the screen, you have a visual representation of the exact middle of the camera. This has many applications when flying but when the camera is pointed straight down, it shows the pilot exactly where the drone is over the ground. This can be useful to avoid flying over people, moving cars, etc. It is especially helpful at higher altitudes.
I find it most useful in landing the drone, especially in tight areas that may present challenges like trees, powerlines, and more. If you have not used this technique, you might find it helpful, and you may find that your piloting skills improve.
